5:21 to MSP...

Sitting here at Denver International Airport, I really don't want to get on this flight. My brief trip to Colorado has been such a nice break from reality. Getting on this plane means going back to my math assignment that is due on Monday, my econ group project that hasn't been started due to uncooperative group members, mountains of papers, and the stress that comes with the end of the semester and finals. I hate finals with all of my being. It's a double-edged sword really, on one hand it's the end of the semester which means winter break in Colorado, and on the other hand it means boatloads of stress and late nights drinking too much coffee. I will feel so much better once I'm done with the semester.

Although getting on this flight means I must return to reality, it also means that I get to see Luke and my roommates. It means that we get to put up our tree tomorrow, and it means that we get to act completely ridiculous. Friends equal less stress, in most cases at least. ;) So here I am, faced with yet another double-edged sword. Colorado has my family, which I miss so dearly. Minnesota has my friends, Luke, and all of my childhood memories. I should probably just be thankful that I have two "homes"...when others only have one. The more love you get the better, right?

Home Sweet Home

The summer after I graduated my parents and sister moved to Colorado, and since then I have not spent a single Thanksgiving with them...until this year. My uncle Greg paid to fly me out as a surprise. It was just perfect, and it makes me realize how much I have to be thankful for. I have amazing friends back in Minnesota, and an amazing family. I have a hard time with the thought of Thanksgiving, and having one special day to be a little extra thankful. Don't you think that we should be thankful everyday? I think it's important to recognize all that we have in life, and realize that not everyone has family or food or shelter or even love. I'm just as guilty as the rest of the world, but I'm going to try extra hard to not take the things and people I have for granted.

I am thankful for: my family, my friends, my boyfriend, having shelter, food, my job, love, my education, and so much more.

Procrastination at its best...

So I'm in the best mood ever, despite the fact that I have a unfinished 3 page paper due tomorrow. I bought a Christmas tree for my room today and flannel sheets! I'm so excited for the holiday season, and comfy flannel sheets are perfect =] Now here I am, sitting with my roomies, listening to Megan read blonde jokes outloud. This is ironic because she, herself, is something of a blonde. Alright, so not many of you would know this but I strongly dislike Taylor Swift. I know, I know what the hell is wrong with me? I just don't like her, but however I do like her Christmas album. Anyways, Laura is playing Taylor Swift on her guitar right now, and Megan is singing along (this is a very unpleasant sound). Kill me. I feel very bad for Alexa, our fourth roommate, who has just made the decision to live with us again next year. She will probably regret that decision by the end of the evening. I love my life, and my roommates, and I could ask for anything more. I'm so excited for tomorrow. I can't say why yet, but I'll let you know soon enough. =]

Alright, back to my paper on Lenin and the Making of the Soviet State...

I really want this!!

So I have this new "calling." I've been dying to have a retro/vintage style dress, but they are all so expensive...So, I've decided that I'm going to teach myself how to sew. I'll start small, like pillows and maybe an apron, and then once I'm better I can make cute dresses and stuff! I used to sew a little so I don't think it'll be too hard to get back into it. :) I can't wait! I should probably add this to my Christmas list!

Hello Kitty Sewing Machine!

This just made my day...

I love Green Day so much! Every album they come out with is excellent, and they are by FAR the best band I have ever seen live. =] twice. My roommates and I were front row this past summer. It was AMAZING! Will Ferrell is so hilarious in this too! haha
