updates

Do you see this? OMG. It's horrible. I want to stay inside ALL day long. It's days like today that make me realize that despite my love for MN. I don't not want to endure this every year for the rest of my life. Meanwhile, it's close to 40 degrees out in Colorado where my parents live. Not cool. My roommate left me a note by the coffee maker..."COFFEE! Because it's ass-kicking cold outside. Stay Warm!" I love her.

Other then the weather, life has been pretty great lately. The semester started two weeks ago, and I love all of my classes and profs, which is rare. I also got promoted at work! I'm almost done with training and in February I get to start in my new position. I'm PUMPED!

Ok, well...I can hear my homework calling me. (I've been trying to ignore it all morning.)

Hope you all have a great day!

goals for the new year.

1. continue to make my life more and more cruelty-free. while i commend every vegan's efforts, i truely see no point in not eating eggs if they come from cage-free or free range farms. one thing that i have been trying to cut back on, but have been failing miserably, is cutting back my dairy consumption. i've done well at cutting milk out of my life, but cheese is another story. animals on dairy farms are treated just as bad, if not worse then other animals on factory farms. i know that not all farms are like this, which is why this year i'm going to go out of my way to find dairy products that come from farms where the animals are treated well.

2. save my money. with college coming to a close in just two semesters, i'm starting to realize that being an adult isn't cheap. plus, we've got a wedding on the way! i'm hoping that once luke and i move in together in may, he'll help me with this. he is really very good at saving his money. another quality trait of my future-hubby.

3. stop being such a scrub. because my work/school schedule is so busy, i rarely get dressed up, and my hair is in a "top-bun" almost everyday. i think that if i start actually getting dressed up and doing my hair, i might have more energy to do the things that i need to do. it's just very hard when i often times go straight from class to work, where i have a god-awful uniform that i have to wear.

what are your new years goals?
xoxo.
